Nat Steele Quartet plays the music of Cedar Walton

Following on from their recent gigs at the 606 Club and Spike's Place, vibraphonist Nat Steele's Quartet presents an evening of the music of pianist & composer Cedar Walton. Cedar Walton was most famous for his role as pianist, composer and arranger for Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, and later went on to lead his own trios and quartets, becoming regarded as one of the greatest jazz pianists and composers of the last half of the 20th century.

The lineup features rising star of the piano, Canadian Sean Fyfe, with up-and-coming bassist Lorenzo Morabito and UK firm-favourite Steve Brown on drums. Expect high energy, swinging jazz.

Nat is a highly respected vibraphonist, with a style is rooted firmly in the bebop tradition, focusing on swinging, groovy interpretations of classic jazz standards and original jazz compositions. He received plaudits rave reviews for his first album, and his new record featuring US tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton, is out now on Resonator Records on 180g LP and CD.
