Once a month, Jungle Electric turns into a little corner of Ireland for an evening of traditional Irish music, good craic, great company, and probably a few songs you’ll find yourself humming for the next three days.Leading the session is local singer-songwriter Terence O’Flaherty on vocals, bouzouki & guitar, joined by a fantastic line-up of talented musicians and friends — with more names to be announced soon!
But this isn’t the kind of night where you have to sit quietly in the corner pretending you know what a bouzouki is. We want you involved! We’ll be handing out instruments to members of the audience, so whether you’re a seasoned musician, a secret tin-whistle virtuoso, or someone whose only musical experience is enthusiastically clapping along at weddings, there’s a place for you.
Expect traditional Irish tunes, well-loved songs, plenty of stories, spontaneous musical moments, and a wonderfully inclusive atmosphere where everyone is welcome. There may even be some dancing. There may also be some questionable dancing. We make no promises.
And, of course, what would an Irish music night be without something good to drink? Our bar will be serving up great, reasonably priced drinks and tasty nibbles, because playing along to a reel is thirsty work, and listening to someone play a 10-minute fiddle solo is apparently even thirstier.
So bring your friends, bring your singing voice, bring your dancing shoes (optional), and definitely bring your sense of humour.
