Guitarist
Coming rather late to Gypsy jazz, he quickly established himself as a rising figure in this style. Imbued with Biréli's style, he would open up to more modern universes. Mastering a great technique, he is sometimes reproached for being cold in his interpretation... Time will tell.
He is one of the figures to follow closely in this style.
Born on April 29, 1985, Adrien Moignard taught himself guitar at the age of 12. He found his early influences in blues/rock and very quickly performed within various bands, on various stages, and in the studio. The discovery of Gypsy music and Django Reinhardt led him to open up to a more jazz repertoire and thus, as early as 2002, he took part in multiple events during which he met and played with Samson Schmitt, Serge Krief, Ninine Garcia, Christophe Lartilleux, Ritary Gaguenetti, Tchavolo Schmitt… At that time he was seen in most of the capital's jam sessions and gatherings.
Then he performed mainly within the Zaïti ensemble with Mathieu Chatelain on rhythm guitar and Jérémy Arranger on double bass. He also participated in other musical projects with the guitarist/cellist Sébastien Giniaux, his jam session accomplice, violinists Costel Nitescu or Alexandre Cavalière, accordionist René Soppa, Sylvain Fantino, and the Bordeaux-based group Gipsy Color…
He is part of the Selmer #607 project with Rocky Gresset, Sébastien Giniaux, Richard Manetti, Noé Reinhardt, and Stochelo Rosenberg on the second volume.
He signed a contract with Dreyfus Jazz in 2009 and released a first CD in 2010.
