At the age of 9, Alex Cambridge developed a keen interest in music. It was from there she began writing and producing songs from her bedroom. Having featured on platforms such as Westwood TV and BBC Radio 1 Xtra, the 20-year-old singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist is currently at work on her debut EP –a perfect blend of Acoustic, Folk and Pop inspired songs that reflects her musical journey, passion and lyrical ability beyond her years.
A true musician, who started singing at age three, learned to play piano aged eleven and guitar shortly after, Cambridge will be writing, producing, mixing and self-releasing her debut EP to be released in 2015. “It has been a long journey, but I’m excited to share these songs and hopefully people can relate and be inspired by them.” In preparation for its release, she is currently performing around London whilst developing a following through her online platforms.
Growing up in a household where music was played daily Cambridge says, “Music was never off limits, it was something I knew from an early age but it wasn’t until I was older that I realised I wanted to write and play music of my own.” Talking about her passion for songwriting she says, “My mum loves music that makes you feel, music with meaning. Having spent most of her early and mid-teens honing her craft as a songwriter and all-round musician, Cambridge has experimented across various styles. “There was a time where I tried out a little bit of everything.
