Atef learned to sing at a very young age thanks to records by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Michael Jackson. Very soon, he took to his first stage with high school friends, covering standards by Police and Sting. After studying English in Aix-en-Provence, he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to music. He performed on stages across the great south of France with other groups, such as that of saxophonist Don Billiez (Atef uses his voice as an instrument), or "The New Soul Collective" in Marseille where he performed his first compositions. In 2000, he founded the band M’Source with other artists. Atef's soft and unique voice, alongside that of his brother Akram, became a trademark for the group. They composed and performed the tracks of this project, characterized by a modernity imbued with spirituality, offering melodies from all horizons driven by world rhythms—what is referred to as "world electro". After two albums released with the band M’Source, Atef continued his journey, and in 2005 he had the decisive encounter with a patron in Monaco. This meeting allowed him to settle in London for a few years, during which he worked on new compositions, performed in several countries around the world, and crossed paths with top-tier artists such as Nile Rodgers, Dallas Austin, and Elton John—all charmed by this "extraordinary voice". Enriched by these wonderful encounters and travels, Atef returned to France and resumed concert performances across the country. Spotted by the producers of the show The Voice, he participated in the first season in 2012. When over 10 million viewers discovered Atef and his crystal-clear voice, he was immediately nicknamed "The Angelic-Voiced Singer".
