About

Beyond Every Definition (B.E.D.) is the latest collaboration from international producers Gota Yashiki & James Wiltshire (AKA Jimmy Gomez). After being taught to play Japanese drums by his father Gota Yashiki illustrious career began over two decades ago playing in bands such as Mute Beat and Melon in Europe. He then returned to Japan and began working on a compilation album released through Mo Wax called Major Force. Gota then went on to play an integral part of Soul II Soul and Bomb The Bass and he was also responsible for programming all the instruments on Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U”. Gota has since produced tracks on albums from the likes of ABC, Gavin Friday, Swing Out Sister, Vivienne McKone, Seal as well as Depeche Mode, Oleta Adams, Neneh Cherry and Bjork. B.E.D.'s other half, James Wilstshire is one of the new breeds of professionals to have found their feet through the world of dance music. Joining DMC in 1994, James worked alongside the cream of the DJ/producer community (including Brothers In Rhythm/Dave Seaman, Full Intention) as well as being signed to Mercury offshoot L’Attitude. While developing his skills over the years he has notched up many memorable moments with long term collaborators Chris + James with numerous remixes and productions that include Everything But The Girl's “Missing”, INXS’s “Original Sin” and the main radio mix of Phats & Small’s Europe-wide hit “Turn Around”.
