Bruno RIGUTTO studied piano at the CNSM in Paris in Lucette DESCAVES's class, chamber music with Jean HUBEAU, as well as composition and conducting. He also had the good fortune to be, for ten years, one of the rare disciples of Samson FRANCOIS. A prizewinner of the Marguerite Long Competition in Paris and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Bruno RIGUTTO began his international career very early on, invited by the greatest conductors: C.M. GIULINI, L. MAAZEL, G. PRÊTRE, S. SKROWACZEWSKI, K. MASUR, S. MACAL, S. BAUDO, etc. He is also the soloist of prestigious orchestras such as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, the Royal Liverpool Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Cecilia Orchestra of Rome, and the orchestras of Barcelona, Madrid, Leningrad, Monte Carlo, and the Gulbenkian Foundation Orchestra, among others. Furthermore, Bruno Rigutto dedicates himself to chamber music, through which he draws the necessary substance for his research. His partners include Isaac STERN, Jean-Pierre WALLEZ, Pierre AMOYAL, Raphaël OLEG, Patrice FONTANAROSA, Brigitte ENGÉRER, Olivier CHARLIER, Barbara HENDRICKS, Michel PORTAL, Mstislav ROSTROPOVICH, Arto NORAS, Yo-Yo MA, etc. His discography is extensive. He has recorded for DECCA, EMI, FORLANE, DENON, LYRINX, and has won several GRANDS PRIX DU DISQUE. A conductor since 1984, Bruno RIGUTTO has also composed several stage and film scores. He teaches at the CNSM in Paris, where he succeeded Aldo CICCOLINI.
