A Devotos do Ódio was born in February 1988, inspired by "Devotos do Ódio" (title of a book by José Louseiro, suggested by Lael, bassist of the band SS 20) and simply "Devotos" since 2000. It maintains to this day the same devotion, a commitment to themselves and their community, "portraying the social", maintaining the attitude throughout the band's history. As Cannibal expresses: "talking about what we see, what we live, here in Alto José do Pinho, and saying that it can be changed... even in a joyful way. Socially we are giants."
