Born and raised in Talca, Diego Lorenzini trained with a degree and master's degree in visual arts, and in that field — especially illustration and teaching — he focused his early professional life. In parallel, in 2011 he started the Uva Robot label, through which he released his first solo recordings, those of Varios Artistas and Tus Amigos Nuevos, as well as those of short-lived projects in which he has participated, such as Naranja y los Colchones.
Identified at first as a singer-songwriter closely tied to the guitar and ukulele, his songs enriched over the years and with craftsmanship. His first album, Trenzas ad honorem, relied on those timbres, his voice, and austere arrangements, but his later releases — Pino (2016) and De algo hay que morir (2019) — added new elements and guests. Thus, names like Niña Tormenta, Simón Campusano, Rosario Alfonso, or Norwegian Erlend Øye (Kings of Convenience) appear in the credits of those works, as well as that of producer Martín Pérez Roa (Merci Merci).
The recognized influence of Chilean poets such as Claudio Bertoni, Rodrigo Lira, Juan Luis Martínez, or Nicanor Parra is a characteristic that Diego Lorenzini's music has maintained over time, as well as numerous references to popular culture and everyday speech. Rangers de Talca, Felipe Camiroaga, Diamela Eltit, Juan Emar, or Raúl Ruiz have space in his lyrics, which are additionally populated by colloquial expressions and wordplay. That imaginary, along with sober and intimate live performances, allowed him to forge a devoted audience, accustomed to packing small house venues first, and selling out larger halls later, in cities like Santiago, Valparaíso, Concepción, and Talca.
