DJ Ariel

Frequently rated by his peers as one of the most naturally gifted talents, Ariel Belloso has been a professional DJ since the age of 15. Born into a nightclub owning family in the city of Rosario, music is in his blood. Ariel's distinctive sound is informed by his knowledge and understanding of World and African rhythms cultivated into his sets. His is a percussive, Latin based groove heavily influenced by the dynamics of Rumba Cuban roots. His sound is championed by a large and diverse selection of DJ's around the world. Ariel's productions and remixes have sold in excess of 2 million records. Ariel debuts in Europe in 1991, more specifically in Ibiza. By the end of summer that year, he had played at virtually every club on the island, including the recently opened Space Terrace. As his reputation spread so did the bookings and, basing himself in London, he began his infamous residency Fuct at Crews. Regular sets at Tribal Gathering, Limelight and Club UK, together with an arduous touring schedule saw Ariel become one of the true pioneers of the UK Hard House and Trance scene of the early nineties. In 1996 Ariel decided to try something new a weekly residency in London where he could play all night instead of 2-hour guest slots. Over the next 5 years Ariel's 8 hour sets at Bagleys Studios in Kings Cross became the stuff of clubbing legend. Freedom was the busiest Saturday night in London. Record label A&R's flocked the club to check out how the young South American DJ filled the club, week after week. Many of the periods' crossover hits were broken on Ariel's dancefloor including one of his own productions, "A9". A chart success when released on Essential Recordings, "A9" was also the first UK Top 40 hit by an Argentine artist.
