About

Edith Márquez born January 27, 1973 is a Mexican singer and actress. She is a dramatic mezzo-soprano. She was born in Mexico City. In 1998 she made a high-profile debut with her first solo album titled "FRENTE A TI", from which major hits were spawned such as “Mi error, mi fantasía”, “Mírame” and “Por hablarle de ti”. The success was total, over 250 thousand copies certified it and the delivery of a Gold Record from the hands of the great Spanish singer Rocío Dúrcal, positioned Edith in a very important place within Spanish-language music. In 2000 she released her second album called “CARICIAS DEL CIELO”, which included hits like “Acostúmbrame al cielo”, “Nubes negras” and “Esta vez”. The following year her third album appeared under the name “EXTRAVÍATE”, from which songs like “Mi nombre” and the one that gave the album its title were heard. In September 2001, her fourth album “¿QUIÉN TE CANTARÁ?” hit the market, for which she worked alongside the talented Spanish composer Juan Carlos Calderón. In it, she interpreted classic themes by the maestro as well as two beautiful unreleased songs, “Enamorada” and “El primero, el único, el último”, which this great of music composed especially for her. In 2004 she offered a great concert at the Metropólitan Theater, which turned out to be quite an event for its emotionality and was recorded to be later released as a DVD.
