Surfing for over a decade between music, art & writing, Eva Peel started as a freelance journalist for Time Out, Coda, Trax then Tsugi, scouring the electronic scenes to report on the news of digital cultures. Her passion for this music led her to DJing in the 90s, and later to production. Passionate about imagery, Eva sometimes plays with the camera, notably co-directing a documentary on the Detroit scene and a few musical reports (Detroit 2001) and surrounds herself with VJs & video directors for her musical projects. She composes with several musicians, first Mike Theis (Gyrls) then Yann Richard with whom she co-founded Theremynt in 2010. A duo between space-disco, new wave and other dancefloor deviations. Their first LP, Space Control, was released in 2012 on the Neopren label, then a maxi, Robotique de l’Amour, saw the light of day in April 2014 with remixes by Dombrance, Acid Washed and Gyrls. In late 2015, Theremynt released a third EP, Vampiros Discos, featuring remixes by David Carretta, Acid Washed and Club Bizarre. Behind the decks, her taste for off-the-beaten-path productions led her to create the Deviant Disco collective in 2013. Headmanning this family of electronic producer-activists blending deviant house, italo-disco, synth-wave, cosmic, balearic and other little-known or completely unlisted genres, Eva Peel brings together all these influences in a DJ set with a single watchword: make people dance.
