Faouzia (born 5 July 2000) is a Moroccan-Canadian singer, songwriter and producer. Known for her powerful vocal range, cinematic songwriting and multilingual artistry, she has built an international following through a blend of pop, alternative pop, art pop and contemporary influences drawn from both Western and Arabic music traditions.
Born in Morocco and raised in Manitoba, Canada, Faouzia developed an interest in music from an early age. She began writing songs, playing piano and producing music as a teenager, often sharing original material online. Her early work quickly attracted attention for its emotional intensity, intricate melodies and technically demanding vocal performances.
Faouzia first gained recognition through independent releases such as Knock On My Door, My Heart's Grave, This Mountain and Born Without a Heart. The latter became one of her breakthrough songs, introducing her to a global audience and establishing many of the themes that would define her later work, including resilience, heartbreak and personal empowerment.
Stripped (2020)
Released in 2020, Stripped was Faouzia's debut EP. Featuring acoustic and piano-driven arrangements, the project highlighted her songwriting abilities and vocal performances while presenting a more intimate side of her artistry. The EP was praised for its emotional honesty and minimalist production.
CITIZENS (2022)
Faouzia released her second EP, CITIZENS, in 2022. Expanding upon her established sound, the project explored themes of identity, belonging, love and self-discovery.
