New line-up, new tracks, old values: integrity, rock'n'roll, noise, research, intensity, melody, volume, frankness, intelligence and irony. Having come to public prominence in 2001 thanks to the successful video "Ancora in viaggio", the story of Gea begins at least 9 years earlier, when five boys from Bergamo gave life to Bug. Six years marked by hard-punk, embellished with an album, several participations in national compilations, but above all a huge number of concerts. Then, just when Bug seemed to have become a cult reality, the band decided to break up. On the ashes of that experience, in September 1998, Gea were born: reduced to three members, the guys decided to abandon the harder drifts of Bug's sound to let themselves be carried away by a direct, scratching and intelligent rock that best enhances their essence as a power-trio. It took Gea only three years to conquer critics and insiders: in February 2001 the Santeria label launched "Ruggine", the trio's first recording effort driven by the intriguing single "Ancora in viaggio" whose video quickly conquered an excellent space in the programming of the main music TVs, transforming itself into a real springboard for the successful tour that follows the release of the album.
