Guillotina 1993-2008 Guillotina formed as a quartet in 1993, with Manuel Suárez (Guitar), Alejandro Charpenell (Drums) El Manco (Bass) and Jorge Vilchis (Guitar). From the beginning, Guillotina's style made a huge impact. It was a band of kids shouting and jumping on stage, projecting a unique energy always giving 150%. Just three months after joining, they signed their first record deal with Warner Music / Discos Rockotitlán. The first album "Guillotina" (Warner, 1994), was produced by Jack Endino (Nirvana / SoundGarden Mudhoney) and went on sale in March 1994 with the single "Todo sigue igual". With this album the doors opened for the band to play throughout the national territory, the United States and various European countries. Guillotina visited Europe for the second time and also began to participate intensively in massive concerts for the benefit of social causes in addition to participating in the South by South West festival. The band's third album, "Mientras el resto sigue" (SUM Records, 1998) marked a watershed in the group's career. In this album, Guillotina became an independent band, while Vilchis was replaced by Aram Hernández on Guitar. This third album, also produced by Endino, gave birth to two singles: "Otra vez" and Uno más, which continue to be, today, some of the songs most awaited by the public at the group's concerts.
