Ila Auto

What is Ila Auto? A bluegrass band from Oslo, Norway, featuring brothers Matias and Kristoffer on vocal, guitar and upright bass, and first cousins Are Fevang and Kay Arne Sulutvedt on dobro and five-string banjo. Kai Henrik Ryen plays the mandolin, snaredrum and bodhran. Matias and Kristoffer was brought up on religion and water in the western bible belt of Norway, lost their way, moved to the city and found country and bluegrass. Are and Kay Arne came out of the deep forests of south-east Norway with nothing to lose, really. And Kai Henrik? Well he entered the band after he lost a game of poker. Ila Auto makes music in the tradition of Flatt & Scruggs and Bill Monroe. And Elvis. And what ever else they choose to put into the stew. In late 2006 Ila Auto released their debutalbum "If you keep pickin', it might never heal" at their own label Auto Records. .
