There are multiple artists who have performed under the name IQ: 1. IQ are a British neo-progressive rock band founded by Mike Holmes and Martin Orford in 1981 following the dissolution of their previous band, The Lens. Although the band has never achieved major commercial success and has undergone several lineup changes, IQ have developed a loyal following and remain active as of 2025, with the original recording lineup intact except for Orford. In 2021 and 2022, IQ performed a series of concerts in the UK and Europe to celebrate their 40th anniversary. His musical development was shaped by a stay in Jamaica, where he worked with his older brother, dancehall artist QQ. One of his tracks, "Tell A Paigon Try", exemplifies his approach, combining lyrical intensity with a melodic structure. IQ has discussed personal challenges, including the loss of friends Showkey and M.Dot in 2016, which influenced his artistic outlook. As of 2017, he was regarded as an emerging figure in the UK music scene, with several unreleased tracks anticipated. 3. IQ was also the original name of a rock band from Stockholm, Sweden. The group initially performed hard rock under the name IQ before rebranding as Guardian Angels and transitioning toward an album-oriented rock (AOR) sound. .
