  • About

Kaddish, initially known as Agent Orange, are a screamo band from Dundee, a city on the North East coast of Scotland, formed in 2001. The current lineup consists of Chris Mylles (drums), John Cumiskey (bass) and Dom Smith (guitar/vocals). Founding lead vocalist Mark Finnie left the band in 2010. They recorded their first demo over the summer of 2002, at engineer Robin Sutherland's home. Years later, they followed this up with the 7 Songs EP in 2006 and a split 7" with Battle of Wolf 359 in 2008. In their early years, they were highly influential to the Dundee hardcore / emo scene, commonly referred to as Ecossemo. Their debut album, the self-titled Kaddish, was finally released in 2010 as a collaboration between four UK based labels: Parade of Spectres, Autumn Jams, Internationale, and This One’s for the Crew. Mark left the band following the album's release, leaving the band as a trio with Dom on lead vocal duties. Their second album Thick Letters To Friends was recorded in 2011, but would not see a release until three years later in 2014 once again as a collaboration between four labels: Make-That-A-Take Records, Black Lake Records, The Ghost Is Clear Records and Boslevan Records. The band released a 4 way split LP with Polina, Bonehouse and Todos Caerán in 2013. The band released their third album What World Was Still? in 2018 via Make-That-A-Take Records. and Black Lake Records. In 2020, the band's first demos were rereleased on cassette as Two Demos via Make-That-A-Take Records, Les Disques Rabat-Joie and Missed Out Records. In late 2025, the band announced that they would begin recording their fourth album in January 2026. Recording was completed in June, set to be released in Autumn 2026 via This is Our Battlefield. .
