"Wobbly, not molded, nor on tracks..."
Since its creation in Nancy in 2001, Casa Bancale has proudly claimed its "marginal designation of origin". Like prospectors searching not for gold but for sounds, the seven members concoct a spicy and wacky mixture. Taking turns as singers and musicians, they excel in what they call "gymnastics between different styles of music": frantic ska, explosive jazz, colorful Latin music, hip-hop... A unique and explosive cocktail, mixed-race and warm. Music that makes you dance and shakes up prejudices.
A 7-track EP in 2003, "Skankogang", followed by a first album "Casa Nostra" in 2008, the troupe moves at its own pace, off the beaten track. Meeting their audience is where their generosity and unflagging energy are fully revealed. Their tours have taken them all over France and abroad, to Yemen, England, Belgium, Germany, Finland, and Sweden, with nearly 400 concerts under their belt. The combo has notably shared the stage with bands like Tryo, Babylon Circus, Sinsemilia, Jim Murple Memorial, as well as Yuri Buenaventura and IAM.
After gaining experience and experimenting with new sounds, they return this autumn to celebrate their 10th anniversary with a more intimate yet still eclectic album titled "Maison close". Marked by a massive vocal arrival and a more rock-leaning trend, this opus featuring humorous and whimsical lyrics confirms their boundless creativity and once again reveals their ability to create a world entirely their own.
