1.) LEV is the new alias of London producer James Levey. With several projects under James's belt, including the sought after My Friend on Anjunadeep, the man behind the alias is no newcomer to the underground music scene.
2.) LEV is (also) a Dutch worshipband. They make pop-rock music, similar to Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Hillsong. Their first album, called Words are not enough, was released in May 2010.
From their site:
'Worship from the heart. That is what the music of LEV is all about, which is the Hebrew word for "heart". Our self-written songs are about God and man: about God's creation and His grace, about our love and gratitude, but also about our frustrations, our pain and trouble, and our desires. Words are not enough to express ourselves to God. God desires our heart!
LEV - a restart of the band Newsong - consists of four friends who have been making music and leading worship in churches and at conferences for years. Over the past few years, the band has traveled quite a few kilometers in the Netherlands (literally and figuratively), including at New Wine Summer Conferences, Youth For Christ, and the EO. In addition, we are regularly invited by various (youth) churches. In 2009, as Newsong, we were one of the three finalists of the XNoizz BandBattle 2009. We concluded this band competition for starting Christian acts in the Netherlands with a dazzling performance at the EO Jongerendag for hundreds of young people. We often perform with a full band, but also play gigs in a smaller, acoustic setting.'
