Little Caesar

Little Caesar is an American hard rock band formed in the late 1980s by vocalist Ron Young. The band is best known for its cover of Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools", which became a hit single in 1990 from its self-titled debut album, "Little Caesar". The band was formed by Ron Young, who had previously worked as a nightclub bouncer. It independently released an EP and contributed the song "Down to the Wire" to the 1989 Metal Blade compilation "Street Survivors". This led to the band signing with DGC Records, a subsidiary of Geffen Records, in 1989. John Kalodner handled A&R for the group, while Bob Rock produced its self-titled debut album, released in 1990. The album received positive reviews, with Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic later awarding it three out of five stars. Supported by the singles "Chain of Fools" and "In Your Arms", "Little Caesar" reached number 139 on the US Billboard 200. Ron Young also made a brief appearance in the 1991 film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" as a biker. The band's second album, "Influence", was released in 1992. By this time, guitarist Apache had left the group and was replaced by Earl Slick. Neither Bob Rock nor John Kalodner returned for the project. "Influence" did not achieve the commercial success of the band's debut, and Little Caesar subsequently disbanded. The band's decline coincided with the growing popularity of alternative rock during the early 1990s. Following the split, Ron Young performed with The Four Horsemen, Manic Eden and Dirt. Little Caesar reunited for a series of live performances in 2001. The band released its third studio album, "Redemption", in 2009 and introduced guitarist Joey Brasler, who replaced founding member Apache. Brasler had previously performed with Etta James, Bob Welch and Cherie Currie.
