Short-lived English rock band (1979-1981), composed of Chris Cutler (guitar, 1979), Mike Edwards (vocals, guitar), German Gonzales (drums), Jeremy Meek (bass, vocals). Chris Cutler is replaced after the 1st album by Simon Boswell (guitar, vocals, keyboards).
After the dissolution of his first band, Advertising, guitarist and producer Simon Boswell joins Live Wire, a Cambridge rock band formed around Mike Edwards. Live Wire has already recorded "Pick It Up", but Boswell brings a more professional sound and polished arrangements. The 2nd album, "No Fright", is less confidential and crosses European borders.
Boswell's influence is even more noticeable in the 3rd recording, "Changes Made", but the "rock band" format no longer suits this eclectic composer, who turns towards film score production and composition (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Jason & the Argonauts, Cousin Bette, War Zone, Women Talking Dirty, This Year's Love, Shallow Grave...).
