Ludmila Oliveira da Silva, better known as Ludmilla, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. Currently, Ludmilla is acclaimed by critics for being a culturally open person, being "Black, Bisexual, Pagode Singer and Believer", a perfect representation of Brazil in its plurality. She began singing at the age of eight in pagode circles and started her musical career in 2012, when she began performing under the stage name MC Beyoncé, achieving national recognition upon releasing the carioca funk song "Fala Mal de Mim", which was a hit in online streams.
After adopting her birth name as her artistic one as well, she signed a recording contract with Warner Music Brasil and released her debut album Hoje (2013), which spawned a series of successful singles such as "Sem Querer", "Hoje" and "Te Ensinei Certin". Her next album, A Danada Sou Eu (2016), also generated several impactful singles like "Bom", "Sou Eu" and "Cheguei", and earned her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album. Later, Ludmilla released her first live album, titled Hello Mundo (2019), which also received a studio version, featuring songs like "Favela Chegou", "A Boba Fui Eu" and "Invocada", and was certified double platinum by Pro-Música Brasil (PMB).
Her extended play (EP) Numanice (2020) brought a departure from her previous works, consisting only of pagode songs. A series of derivative works from the EP were released, such as her second live album entitled Numanice: Ao Vivo (2021), her fourth studio album Numanice 2 (2022) – which earned her a Latin Grammy for Best Samba/Pagode Album – and the third live one, Numanice 2: Ao Vivo (2022).
