Manata

Manata has become a prominent figure in the Portuguese music scene, hailing from a small village in the Santarém district. His early passion for music was inspired by his father's vinyl collection, which fuelled his interest in digging and DJing. Beginning his career in local bars and small parties, Manata gained significant recognition after relocating to Lisbon. In 2019, he founded Nugs On Board, a well-respected label, which helped him gain international attention, as well as his first gigs across Europe, performing at notable venues such as Hoppetosse, PRST, Lion & Lamb, Buerro, to name a few, and also embarking on his first US tour, along with a brief engagement in South Korea. The past five years have significantly shaped his career, culminating in the release of his debut album in 2024 on his own imprint. In 2025 he lunched his new label called Red Beryl Records, Nugs On Board sub label focused on bringing to life old unreleased productions from the 90s and early 00s.
