Biographies: 1) Orca from Plymouth, UK; Bio from Orca's MySpace in 2008: "Formed in 1999 as a 4 piece in the small town of Ivybridge, Devon. Orca made only one recording and played a limited number of shows before becoming a 5 piece band with the addition of Tom Ward in late 2000. With a second guitarist and 3rd vocalist now on board the live shows took on a very energetic appearance as the music began to change from primitive Nu-Rock to intelligent Post Hardcore. Recording in local studio 'PMC' became a frequent event and very quickly this paid off with Steve Lamacq highlighting the band in 2001 as 'Unsigned artist of the week' on BBC Radio 1. This was not to be the only time Radio 1 backed the band with other EP's being played by well known DJ's such as John Peel, Marian Hobbs, and Scott Mills."
