Ostinato

Multiple artists have released music as Ostinato, including an American rock band and a German electronic producer. 1. Ostinato was an American rock band from Virginia and Washington, D.C., whose music is a primarily instrumental and angular blend of noise rock, post-rock, and math rock, with progressive and jazz influences. The band comprised guitarist/vocalist David Hennessy, bassist Jeremy Arn Ramirez, and drummer Matthew Clark. From the band's inception in 1997 to its dissolution in 2007, the trio released three full-length albums: Unusable Signal, their 1998 self-released debut; Left Too Far Behind, the 2004 follow-up after an extended hiatus; and Chasing the Form, their final record in 2006. The last two albums were released on German label Exile on Mainstream. 2. Ostinato is an alias of Christian Mevs, a German producer and former owner of the now-defunct Disco Bruit label.
