What was known for several years as CieloMama transformed in 2008 into PALANCA, a 9-musician sound squad who, coming from different musical styles, deliver a strong and party-ready sound, where Afro-Caribbean rhythms like cumbia and porro acquire an urban sonority through funk and above all Afrobeat. A strong horn section, a groovy bassline, drums emulating 70s sonorities, funky guitars, africanized keyboards, and folkloric percussion give Palanca its unique sound.
