The Pimpinela duo is an Argentine musical duo composed of siblings Lucía Galán and Joaquín Galán, known under the aliases of Lucía and Joaquín.
María Graciela Galán Cuervo (May 23, 1961) and Joaquín Roberto Galán Cuervo (May 23, 1953) were born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Both siblings, better known as Pimpinela, come from a Spanish family, with an Asturian father and a Leonese mother. Since their childhood in the Argentine capital, they were able to define the long and successful path that time had in store for them. From a young age, Lucía rehearsed in front of a mirror while her brother Joaquín became a companion to his guitar.
Later, driven by their parents and under the sponsorship of composer Luis Aguilé, they managed to reach the stage and Pimpinela was born. Little by little, they conquered the radio listeners of their native country before expanding throughout Latin America, including Brazil and others like Spain, where for over two decades they have managed to win over the Spanish public just as much as the Latin one.
Their popularity is fundamentally due to their genuine way of interpreting, bringing to the stage people's daily difficulties, such as couple relationships, family, and love among family members; but without a doubt, couple relationships with their inconveniences have been what led them to world fame.
The duo supports and sponsors the "Hogar Pimpinela para la Niñez," a shelter for twenty-five children aged 1 to 15.
Personal life [edit] Currently, Joaquín is separated and has a son, Francisco Joaquín Galán; on the other hand, Lucía is also separated, she has a daughter, Rocío Luna, from her only marriage to businessman Alberto Hazán.
