A Finnish rautalanka/rock n' roll band 1. The Spitfires are a 4 piece band from Watford. Their work ethic, powerful songs mixed with social commentary and lack of industry support has made this fiercely independent band one of the most popular and vital underground bands in the UK today. This attitude has earned them a dedicated following and sold out shows across the UK and abroad. Following up the critically acclaimed debut ‘Response’ which saw the band enter high in the UK Album Charts and reach Number 6 in both the independent and vinyl charts - The Spitfires return with their much anticipated second album ‘A Thousand Times’ 2. Between 1998-2003 the Spitfires from Vancouver, B.C. released three full length LPs, four 7 inches, and appeared on over 14 comps or videos on various labels world wide. They toured the US and Canada extensively as well as touring England shortly before their premature departure. After a 2 year hiatus, they reunited and finished a new album AIM LOW, the 4th for The Spitfires. It took a bit to get it out but it found a home on Yeah Right Records. 3. The Spitfires were one of the longest playing live bands in the Achterhoek region of the Netherlands. The roots of the band are dating back to 1939, with the band then performing under the name "'Dans Orkest Brugman". After the war, the name "The Spitfires" was adopted as a tribute to the legendary fighting plane of the liberators. In 1979 the band was joined by frontman Hein Migchelbrink. He fronted the band up until their farewell tour in 2020. .
