A Franco-Swiss ensemble founded in 2019 in Geneva, Trio Ernest performs regularly across Europe. In residence at the European Chamber Music Academy and the "Dimore del Quartetto", they are winners of numerous international prizes, including the Pro Musicis Prize (Paris), first prize at the Verao Classico Chamber Music Award (Lisbon), the Orpheus Competition (Zurich), and the Chamber Music Award at the ISA Festival (Vienna). Laureates of the Villecroze Academy, the trio holds a Master's degree from the Hochschule der Künste Bern in Patrick Jüdt's class. Former residents at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and ProQuartet, they are currently perfecting their art with Mathieu Herzog. Resolutely anchored in their time, the three musicians bring a modern and committed perspective to classical music. Particularly dedicated to championing female composers of yesterday and today, they program a piece composed by a woman at every concert. In line with this approach, they received the Christian Zeller Award for their interpretation of Amanda Maier's Trio, and take part in Boîte à Pépites. Wishing to contribute to the dynamism of their repertoire, they premiered Carlos Roque Alsina's Trio and created trio arrangements of pieces by Bartók, Brahms, Gonzaga, and Ravel. Finally, sensitive to environmental causes, they travel across Europe by train to limit the climate impact of their profession.
