The Trio Wanderer celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2012. All alumni of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, the members of Trio Wanderer chose travel as their emblem: an internal journey that closely links them to Schubert and German romanticism, and an open, curious one that explores the repertoire from Haydn to contemporary music. Celebrated in the international press for their extraordinary sensitive playing, almost telepathic rapport, and perfect instrumental mastery, Trio Wanderer is currently one of the best chamber music ensembles in the world. Trained by great masters such as Jean-Claude Pennetier, Jean Hubeau, Menahem Pressler of the Beaux-Arts Trio, and members of the Amadeus Quartet, they won the ARD competition in Munich in 1988 and the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in the United States in 1990. From 1988 to 1990, the members of Trio Wanderer attended the chamber music masterclasses at the Festival de la Roque d'Anthéron, masterclasses they now lead as professors.
