The story
One of Iceland's most internationally acclaimed artists, Ásgeir has made his mark with sensitive and elegant folk-pop. His debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn became the best-selling debut in Icelandic history, followed by its English version In The Silence (2014). He then confirmed his success with Afterglow (2017), Bury The Moon (2020), and Time On My Hands (2022), praised by numerous international media outlets and radio stations.
In recent years, Ásgeir has favored intimate solo concerts across Europe, the Nordic countries, and Iceland, while collaborating with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Arte TV. Currently preparing his next album, he is adopting a more personal approach to songwriting, exploring themes of relationships, time, hope, and nostalgia. Influenced by Leonard Cohen as well as contemporary artists, he delivers a new work with organic and deeply emotional energy, marking a new step in his artistic evolution.
