Assassin is a legendary French hip-hop group, founded in Paris in the mid-1980s, led by its charismatic frontman Rockin’ Squat, a major figure of socially conscious rap in France. As a pioneer of conscious and independent hip-hop, the group established itself from the very beginning with uncompromising speech, committed lyrics, and extraordinary artistic freedom.

Assassin is the first French rap group to earn a gold record entirely independently by producing and distributing their music through their own label, Assassin Productions. The group thus became an essential reference and a major influence on this culture in France and internationally. With over a million albums sold and cult-status tracks, Assassin has influenced multiple generations of artists.

In 2026, the group makes its grand return with a new album and tour, staying true to its activist, creative DNA and artistic standards. The Odyssey continues and nothing can stop it!
