Biennale MArteLive 2026 Preview: PREWN

On September 19, PREWN arrives in Rome. The project of American songwriter and musician Izzy Hagerup is one of the most interesting voices on the new US indie rock scene.

Originally from Massachusetts and now based in Los Angeles, Hagerup builds a dark, visceral, and deeply personal sonic universe with PREWN, balancing indie rock, post-punk, experimental folk, and lo-fi sounds.

Following her debut Through the Window, PREWN released System in 2025, an intimate and abrasive work where fragility, tension, noise, and melodic openings coexist within a fiercely personal songwriting style. Live, the tracks take on an even more physical and direct dimension.

Opening act: Alessandro Giovannini

Singer, producer, and founder of White Rock Roma, Alessandro Giovannini is an active figure in the Roman independent scene. Between live shows in the capital's main venues and collaborations with numerous artists, he pursues a path built on research, cross-pollination, and sonic identity.

From the artistic direction of cultural formats to music production, his project takes shape through an intense, contemporary sound.

The evening is part of the Previews for the Biennale MArteLive 2026, scheduled from October 1 to 11, 2026.
