The story
Billie, 23, blends an English heritage with a French sensibility: from edgy rock to tender words, from drive to fragility. Singing and playing the piano since the age of 6, she grew up between the dream pop of the Cocteau Twins, the post-punk of Joy Division, the audacity of The Velvet Underground, and the voices of France Gall and Françoise Hardy. The Talking Heads film Stop Making Sense acted as a turning point.
Trained at the American School of Modern Music and later moving to England, she refined her technique, writes in French, and crafts a feminine rock sound, balancing clear vocals with distorted guitars.
Her debut EP J’avance explores desire, melancholy, and urgency. Produced between London and France with Zacharie Berdugo (Ayrakaz) and then Clément and Adrien from Kids Return, it asserts an organic, melodic, and electric pop-rock sound. With her new EP À ce que les autres pensent de moi, Billie delivers an intimate and generational project on identity, the judgment of others, and the traces of the past—or how we build ourselves, amid discreet wounds and lingering memories.
