The story
BIRKLEYN SOUND FESTIVAL – Autumn Season opens its new season at La Marbrerie with an evening blending the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and dance music.
For this first date, discover SOAD and ASSAFIR: two singular universes, bridging the heritage of Tarab, Greco-Anatolian repertoires, improvisation, and contemporary sounds.
SOAD revisits the world of Oum Kalthoum through original arrangements featuring voice, cello, guitar, and percussion.
ASSAFIR, a Greco-Anatolian septet, draws from the traditional music of Greece, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean to create a blended, generous, and resolutely festive sound.
