The story
Virtuoso and incendiary, BRUIT ≤ are today one of the most unique forces in European post-rock. Born in Toulouse in 2016 with the desire to escape industry logic and return to creation as a purely artistic process, the French quartet has built a live reputation over the years that few can match.
After two EPs, an internationally acclaimed debut album, and a world tour as the backing band for the legendary M83, BRUIT ≤ returned to the studio — retreating to the heights of the Pyrenees before recording in an old church in Toulouse — to create The Age of Ephemerality, their second album, released by Pelagic Records on April 25, 2025.
On stage, there are only four of them: drums, cello, guitar, and bass/violin. But what they do with that is hard to describe without resorting to exaggeration. The music builds slowly, adds layers, and climbs until it reaches something that feels like pure catharsis — relentless drums, heavy guitars, strings in total collision. The atmosphere becomes dense, suffocating, and then, suddenly, everything changes again.
One of their concerts isn't just heard: it is experienced.
