The King of One String is coming to Hoots! 🇯🇲
Jamaican original Brushy One String brings his one-of-a-kind live show to Hootananny Brixton, armed with little more than his battered one-string guitar and a voice that sounds like a whole band.
Born Andrew Chin and raised in Jamaica, Brushy grew up surrounded by music — the son of legendary reggae singer Freddie McKay — and developed his own unmistakable style blending reggae, blues, soul, folk and dancehall. His one-string guitar isn't a gimmick; Brushy uses the instrument for bass, rhythm and percussion while laying down powerful, soulful vocals over the top.
