Invoking in turn the figure of the tightrope walker and the skipper, CharlElie Couture delivers with 'Solissimo' an intimate reflection on the perilous exercise of the one-man show; a return to roots where he interprets his sun-drenched tracks on guitar and piano with true acoustic elegance.

Being alone on stage is a perilous exercise, a tightrope walk without a safety net. Let's just say it requires a certain taste for risk… Much like a tightrope walker challenges the absolute by accepting the movements of the air and the gusts of wind, stepping onto the stage alone is a challenge…

When you create, you must love facing the void without landmarks or guarantees. Embarking on a journey into the unconscious. But isn't that the very essence of what we do? Doesn't being artist mean accepting chance?

I was fifteen or sixteen when I started playing "solo on stage" in small venues. I would tell stories and sometimes let myself wander into long digressions. In fact, it was during a solo concert at the Café de la Gare that my life changed…

The solo act is a treasure hunt, allowing free rein to a certain form of improvisation… And the closeness with the audience creates an intimacy that lets them experience the songs in their almost original versions...

What drives me in SOLO is the pleasure of skippering a boat, a frigate at the mercy of the currents, beyond the waves of fashion; solo concerts often leave behind unforgettable memories…
