City Of The Sun

Founded by guitarist John Pita, then joined by drummer Zach Para, the group later welcomed bassist Matt Fasano and guitarist Marco Bolfelli. City of the Sun creates music that is both intimate and cinematic—like a film you can step into. Since their 2016 debut with To The Sun and All the Cities in Between, followed by their 2020 self-titled album and Segunda Alma in 2022, the band has built a dedicated community of followers worldwide. As their notoriety grew, City of the Sun began touring alongside Peter Bjorn and John and Thievery Corporation, while their songs resonated with listeners on a profoundly universal level. Their lush, visceral compositions carry echoes of desert winds, urban nights, Mediterranean summers, and the quiet glow of loss and transformation. It is hardly surprising that audiences from London to Paris, Athens, and far beyond have welcomed them to sold-out shows—crowds hushed, almost in reverence, listening to every note as if it were a sung word.

Their new album, Under the Moon, marks a return and feels like stepping out of the shadows into a new light. Produced with the legendary Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Built to Spill), the album traverses moods and geographies: the oceanic roll of "Angeles," the spaghetti-western calm of "Bajo la Luna," the desert rock pulse of "Ciudad del Sol," or the Mediterranean softness of "Hotel Alma."

What City of the Sun creates goes beyond mere instrumental music. It is a language in its own right—a language that listeners across all continents instinctively understand.
