ALEX100
With lyrics depicting the variations of his mental landscape, Alex100 touches first through the sincerity with which he approaches the oscillation of feelings running through him. A Parisian independent artist, for seven years he has been exploring the deconstructions and reconstructions of a self that sometimes lights up by chance from a life-altering encounter, and sometimes wavers in the face of the vertigo of life choices and impulses to run away. His songs capture sensations, snapshots of life, like taking Polaroids of this interior scenery. Musically, his universe was forged at the crossroads of crafted pop and muffled soft-rock. One can sense in his compositions the delicacy of Sufjan Stevens, the analog warmth of Sam Evian or Hannah Cohen, or even the raw and romantic spleen of Ryder the Eagle.
To craft his warm-toned songs, Alex100 gathers his tracks through homemade recordings featuring a succession of musicians scattered across Paris and its surroundings. Here in a small apartment in Ménilmontant, there facing the Stalingrad metro tracks, elsewhere still in a small studio-house in Mitry-Claye, along the Saint-Martin canal, the Pyrénées district... Other landscapes, urban ones this time, which form the backdrop of a wandering music.
Following an EP and a debut album, whose track Faïence was featured in the series Emily in Paris, Alex100 continues his psycho-musical self-analysis where fantasy and reason fight for the ship's helm, inviting us in turn to seek the desirable horizon towards which to set our course.
