In Dry Cleaning, guitars trace oblique lines while lead singer Florence Shaw, as charismatic as she is nonchalant, unspools her stream of consciousness with disarming phlegm. Hailing from South London, the epicenter of the British post-punk revival, the band turns the most mundane details into murky, funny and sometimes moving narratives.

Long masters of detachment, the four Britons have let more light into their latest Secret Love (2026), a record produced by Cate Le Bon where the familiar strangeness of their universe is tinged with tenderness and emotion. Music that looks at the world sideways, far enough away to perceive its absurdity, close enough to grasp its full vulnerability.
