**ELIZA CARTHY & THE RESTITUTION**
ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY
FRENEMIES — Eliza Carthy Turns Up The Volume
Eliza Carthy is fifty years young, and she's marking the occasion with producer Ben Seal and her band The Restitution, cranking the fiddle and guitars up to eleven for 'Frenemies', a new album about motherhood, loneliness, and the messy, glorious business of coming out the other side. Expect pathos. Expect humour. Expect volume.
Never one to coast on being a nepo baby — even if her parentage is hardly a secret — Carthy has spent decades championing English music, traditional and progressive, earning a reputation as a fearless mixer of genres and an even more fearless speaker of her mind.
Eliza has played everywhere, from the Royal Albert Hall to The Getty Centre, by way of folk clubs, Ghana, and drum & bass basements in Brixton. For Carthy it's all one music — Rock, World, Folk, all threaded together, indivisible. Frenemies is her best go yet at proving it.
And so to the launch, and a special one-off show at Camden’s legendary Dingwalls, where Eliza Carthy and the Restitution will be blasting through the album in all its glory, and who knows - they may even be joined by one of the incredible collaborators:
Jools Holland, Robyn Hitchcock, KT Tunstall, Jos Vantyler, Queen of Harps, Miranda Richardson and Tim McInnerny.
This will be a show not to be missed.
