For this 20th edition of the Summer Jam Festival, the Club welcomes an emblematic musician whose history is intimately linked to this venue: Étienne Mbappé. This great name in jazz and world music shares a true love affair with the Club, which began in the 1980s, and knows its stage better than anyone today after decades of music, sweat and shared passion within its walls. His presence tonight is a celebration of the African roots of jazz.

His very particular playing style, using gloves, gives him an inimitable sound signature – a fineness of touch and skin-deep expressiveness that set him apart on stages all over the world.

Alongside him, three top-tier musicians: Anthony Jambon on guitar, with his crystal-clear and polished playing, already a familiar stage partner to Étienne; Brice Essomba on keyboards, arranger and composer with jazz and afro-contemporary colors; and Japhet Boristhène on drums, a native of Réunion Island who has become one of the most respected figures on the Lyon jazz scene. An evening shaping up to be memorable.
