The story
For over 20 years, FLOX has been crafting a unique sound, a vibrant fusion of roots reggae, electro, dub, and nu-soul. Franco-British with a mixed musical identity, FLOX has established himself as an essential reference in the French alternative scene. With seven studio albums to his credit and numerous tours across Europe, he has created a personal universe where the warmth of reggae meets the precision of machines.
Today, FLOX returns with Thing in Itself, his 8th studio album inspired by the philosophy of Emmanuel Kant. This new project deeply explores the notions of perception, truth, and otherness. The "thing-in-itself" (Ding an sich) – what we can never fully know because it is filtered by our own consciousness – becomes a fragmented metaphor here, where everyone perceives the world through their own prism.
An essential question arises: can we truly understand one another as long as we do not consider the other person's point of view?
