Ibrahim Alfa Jnr is a British-Nigerian producer, performer, and label founder whose adventurous career in electronic music spans nearly three decades. Raised on piano, guitar, and early computer experiments, Alfa was inspired by the minimalism of Steve Reich and John Cage, as well as the emerging sounds of acid house and Detroit techno. He began releasing music in the 1990s and soon established himself across Europe’s club circuit, founding the influential labels Automatic and Semi Automatic. Alfa’s 2016 archival album for Germany’s Workshop Records, Hidden by the Leaves, earned critical acclaim. In recent years, he’s released a trilogy of albums on Mille Plateaux and launched the experimental alias count0, embracing cutting-edge sound design with SonicLabs STARWAVES.
