Hempress Sativa embodies music as a spiritual, political, and revolutionary force.
Born Kerida Johnson to Rastafarian parents, she grew up immersed in roots reggae, dub, and Nyabinghi drumming rhythms. Her lyrics speak of awareness, resistance, and identity, maintaining a deep connection to her origins. She has collaborated with Tribal Seeds, Sister Carol, Mumma Nancy, and Paolo Baldini DubFiles. In March 2026, she releases Woman, produced by Paolo Baldini and distributed by La Tempesta Dub.
On stage, she will be accompanied by the Unconquerable Band.
8:30 PM OPENING ROOTS BALERA DJ SET / Since 2016, one of the benchmark acts of the Bologna reggae scene. A selection ranging from the roots of Jamaican music all the way to dub, ska, and dancehall, to accompany us from the aperitif into the evening.
