Sitting in the sweetest spot between instantly accessible and intriguingly off-kilter, his songs swerve from brash indie-rock to tender alt-folk - often interspersed with intricate details and experimental sonic twists. But there’s consistency too, with the soaring falsetto of his voice exploring seesaw emotions and existential angst which both amplify his flair for the theatrical.
