"Long Wave Home" by Jesca Hoop overflows with hope for a broken world. The seventh solo album by the California-born, Manchester-based singer-songwriter took shape in the midst of a period of both personal and geopolitical upheaval: an entanglement of fractures that seemed to reflect one another as they unfolded. It is the first album Hoop has self-produced, and it marks both a fresh start and a deepening of her rich and multifaceted discography. Across the album's rich and sumptuous tracks, Hoop reflects deeply on what people owe one another: in individual relationships, within the community, and as witnesses to the wider world.

These days are fraught with terror. Long Wave Home wades right into it and resurfaces with a sharp, curious spirit.
