Founded in 2009 by Iranian-American musician, producer, and singer Kris Esfandiari, KING WOMAN has established itself as one of the most singular and haunted voices in contemporary doom, slowcore, and dark rock scenes.

Driven by music that is as heavy as it is ethereal, Kris Esfandiari develops a deeply emotional universe where spirituality, trauma, desire, redemption, and inner collapse intersect. Between monumental doom, spectral shoegaze, and permanent gothic tension, KING WOMAN transforms each track into a nearly liturgical experience.

Following the striking releases of Doubt and then Created in the Image of Suffering, the project reaches a new dimension with Celestial Blues, an acclaimed album released via Relapse Records. Inspired by personal experiences, childhood memories related to religion, and the imagery of John Milton's Paradise Lost, the record builds an intense and theatrical work around the fall, faith, and self-reconstruction.
